My newest signing..

GW Voller: Matias Perez - D/M R plays as FCC - £22k wages - 12 goals in 11 matches

He scored 4th highest on my GpM test. Just imagine what his wage would have been if he had been a natural striker!

  1. This is awesome, I love your blog.

Do you know any way I can pull some data like this on Windows? I'm really interested in stuff like this and would like to crunch some numbers myself.

Or if your willing and able, could you output some of your data to a text file so I could import it into excel or something?

  2. I've sort of streamlined everything to work quite well on my Mac. Basically I use a timed screengrab (scrolling down lists in FML), crop the images with ImageMagick and use the OCR tool Tesseract to get some useful data.

You can find Tesseract (for Windows) here:
    http://code.google.com/p/tesseract-ocr/

Other than that, I've experimented a bit with Microsoft Office Document Imaging on Windows. This is probably capable of doing the same thing, but more time consuming as you need to adjust every single screen shot. The Document Imaging application should be installed somewhere in your MS Office folder I think.

Just drop me an email at drittpost@gmail.com and I'll happily send over some of my raw data!

  3. Pace and Acc are the key then... and finishing is not that relevant. Do you think that will even itself out once the GW fills up with better players?

  4. I've found that pace is key together with two other attributes.

I'm quite positive this will not change when teams get better defenders. My findings from Miller Beta season 18 gives me the same result.

  5. Acceleration is always linked to Pace anyway.

Based on the attributes from the said player, maybe Stamina (often overlooked, may scor a lot later in the game ?) and one of the mental attributes (Either Anticipation, Decision or Concentration ?)
