me 902

Set up a CPU tournament to look through some results based on latest ME..

Level 5 and level 6 teams

The league standings:

1st: Pacy 433 6*
2nd: Pacy 433 5*
3rd: Pacy, low stamina 433 6*
4th: Towering forward 451 6*
5th: Pacy, low stamina 433 5*
6th: Lacking strength, pacy 451 6*

Pace wins matches. Always has. Valid for FML ME 902 / FM 2011..@
If I were to choose, I'd most likely use a 433/451 variant..

  1. interesting analysis but I'm not sure how meaningful the results of the CPU matches really are. The CPU teams are incredibly unrealistic sets of players (i.e. entire teams of 18+ pace/accel but <10 technical attr) that I wouldn't expect to show up in live matches. Also, I could be wrong, but I doubt that the CPU "managers" are intelligent enough to make the appropriate chances to counter their opponents on a match-by-match basis.

Pace is still a deadly weapon in the new ME but if you don't have the technical/mental attributes to back it up your team will be far worse than in the pre-1.65 ME.

  2. to me that is what makes the results meaningful. no uncertainties. no interference from managers. same tactics. same starting XI every match. just plain numbers in play really.

but you are of course right re high pace/low tech. i still believe it would lead to the same results if the players were high pace/a bit less high tech.. except closer between top and bottom of league.

i might do some proper player analysis. at least i will post something on the individual player stats. not sure if i will go all the way and use my OCR set-up though, as it is on another computer, and it honestly takes quite some time to get some results out of it..

  3. Hi Andreas,

have you ever devoted much or any time towards pattern recognition regarding base stats of regens and their corresponding potential levels?

Taking my cue from you, I've been trying to do a bit of number crunching myself, only I've got literally zero experience with databases so I'm basically just manually inputting the starting attribs of regens into an Excel spreadsheet to see if I can notice any patterns just by looking.

Needless to say, it's time-consuming, laborious and difficult to be sure if I'm doing it right. Do you have any tips? I have a LOT of money on Francescoli and I'd be quite happy to buy a massive chunk of players if it meant coming up with aa few even semi-reliable indicators of potential.
